SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team got its 2019-20 season underway over the weekend at the 2019 Swarthmore Invitational. In addition to the host Garnet, Centennial Conference foe Washington College and Division I La Salle joined the challenging four-team event.
Sarah Evenson led the Fords in singles as she went 2-0 with back-to-back straight-set wins against conference foes. Emily Shutman and Claire Johnson each posted 2-1 records in singles play. Natalie Williams joined Shutman as that pairing went 2-0 in their matches together. Anna Malkov and Evenson won their only match when they were paired together, giving the Fords a trio of pairings that went unbeaten throughout the weekend.
