Season Review: Women's Squash Finishes With Best Ranking Since 2009

Signature Wins: The Fords made their presence felt immediately at the Navy Round Robin, opening the season with a 2-0 mark after dispatching No. 34 Boston University and Johns Hopkins on the same day (Nov. 11) ... A win against No. 34 Bard on January 20 helped propel Haverford into a three-match winning streak, notching wins against Georgetown (Feb. 3), Boston College (Feb. 10) and Bucknell (Feb. 10) in the final three matchups of the regular season ... In the CSA Championships, the Fords edged out California by a final of 5-4 (Feb. 17), to reach the CSA Consolation Final.

Season Notes: The Fords finish the season with the No. 30 overall ranking, the highest year-end ranking for the Fords since the 2008-09 season … The Fords posted their most wins in a single season since the 2014-15 campaign … Isabelle Gotuaco finishes her Haverford career with 38 wins, tying Rachel Kaplan '99 for the Haverford career record … Gotuaco went 11-5 in the 2017-18 campaign, a team high in wins … Kaitlin Reese represented the Fords at the CSA Individual Championships for the second-straight season.

Looking ahead: The Fords will graduate Gotuaco, Fioramonti-Gorchow and Olivia Franco, but return a strong group that includes co-captain Kaitlin Reese at the top of the ladder. Reese already has 21 wins through just two seasons. Maddie Hager and Tia Brown will also look to continue to make an impact in 2018-19.
