Men's Tennis Finishes ITA Southeast Regional on a High Note

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Haverford College men's tennis team found great success on the second day of the ITA Southeast Regional as all five of the singles players remaining on Sunday finished their tournaments with victories. In doubles, the Fords also had a pairing reach the flight finals of the B draws.

After losing to ranked players in the championship bracket, Dais Nakayama and Kevin Yan went a perfect 2-0 in their respective consolation rounds on Sunday. Nakayama recorded a straight set win over his opponent from Christopher Newport before an 8-3 win against his Bridgewater College foe. Yan doubled up his first opponent from Virginia Wesleyan before a walkover win against Swarthmore's John Larkin.

In B1 singles, Eli Phelps dropped his first match of the day against Carnegie Mellon before storming back with an 8-2 win against Salisbury's Michael Hudson. Both Raja Arul and Ishaan Prinz dropped their first match of B2 singles, but finished their tournaments with wins in the consolation.

In doubles, Rob Kresch and Arnav Patodia allowed just five games in their three wins to reach the B1 doubles championship match. However, their first collegiate action came to a close at the hands of Franklin & Marshall's doubles team.
