Haverford merits numerous spots on women's indoor track all-conference list

LANCASTER, Pa. - Twelve members of the Haverford College women's indoor track & field team earned All-Centennial Conference recognition when the league released its all-conference list Tuesday afternoon.

All-conference selections honor the first, second and third-place finishers from the Centennial championship meet held on Feb. 23 at Ursinus College where the Fords finished second overall.

Placing first in the 5,000 meter run, Freshman Fiona Hendry was Haverford's lone first-team honoree. Hendry, a second-team all-conference selection this fall in cross country, also garnered honorable mention honors for her third-place finish in the 3,000.

Picking up second-team accolades was Emma Kornetsky in the long jump and triple jump. Coming close to her career-best distance, Kornetsky finished in the runner-up spot in the long jump for the second time in her career while her second-place finish in the triple jump came by way of a new career-best mark.

Senior Hannah Davis also used a career-best time to merit second-team honors for her runner-up finish in the 400 meter run and added honorable mention recognition as a member of the 4x200 relay squad.

Joining Davis in the 4x200 relay that ran to a third-place finish, and honorable mention all-conference honors, were Jade Andrade, Katie Bigay and Kimberly Carlomagno.

Makeda Carroll, Bridget Gibbons, Cara Keifer and Emily Scott also claimed honorable mention recognition with a third-place finish in the distance medley relay.

Earning honorable mention for individual performances at Ursinus were Katie Balmer and Kelley Riffenburgh with third-place finishes in the mile and the 5,000, respectively.
