Kornetsky earns Centennial honor for career-best effort at Keogh Invitational
LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Emma Kornetsky of the Haverford College women's indoor track team earned the Centennial Conference's field athlete of the week award, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the league, for her career-best performance in the long jump last week.
Kornetsky claimed first in the long jump at Haverford's Keogh Invitational on Friday, Feb. 15 with a career-best mark of 5.13 meters (16 feet, 10 inches). Registering the winning mark on her second attempt of the night inside Gary Lutnick Tennis & Track Center, the senior now ranks third on the Centennial performance list.
The Fords will look for more efforts like Kornetsky's this coming weekend as they take part in the Centennial Conference indoor track & field championships on Saturday at Ursinus College.
