Women's tennis named ITA all-academic team

SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Haverford College women's tennis team has been designated an all-academic team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as announced on Thursday by the organization.

A program must have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above to attain ITA all-academic status. Haverford was one just two Centennial Conference teams and 79 Division III  overall to receive the national academic honor.

Ten members of the squad merited scholar-athlete status including Jordana Bloom, Kate Donches, Alex Ferrara, Abbey Flynn, Caitlin Gallagher, Abigail Healy, Olivia Rauss, Celia Tong, Rachal Torg and Sarah Wolberg. ITA scholar-athletes must be varsity letter winners and have a grade point average of at least 3.50.

The Fords, ranked 16th in the Atlantic South in the ITA's final regional ranking of 2013, reached double figures in wins for the third straight season en route to falling in the Centennial Conference semifinals.
