Gluck headed to World Cup in Germany

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College head women's soccer coach Jamie Gluck will be joining a select group of coaches from the United States who will be traveling to the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011.

Gluck, heading into her fifth campaign at the helm of the Haverford program, will be taking part in the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Women's World Cup Tour and Special Topics Course running from June 27 through July 8. The featured clinician of the tour is Nancy Feldman, head women's soccer coach at Boston University and a member of the NSCAA academic staff.

Feldman will lead Gluck and her compatriots through coaching education sessions interspersed with attending the U.S. National Women's Team's three opening round matches and a fourth match between France and the host club from Germany.

A daily blog by Gluck, hosted on the Haverford athletics Web site, will chronicle her trip and the progress of the U.S. team.

Haverford completed its second consecutive 12-win season in 2010, qualifying for the Centennial Conference playoffs for the fourth straight time, all under Gluck's leadership. Over the past two seasons the Fords have accumulated 18 shutout victories and held opponents scoreless 20 times.
