Why did you choose Haverford?
After visiting a bunch of other schools and getting just okay
vibes, I got onto Haverford’s campus and felt kind of like I
was home. It was the first and only school I visited where I could
see myself as a student.
Favorite class?
I have taken several classes at Haverford that have truly made me
think in new ways; it would be hard to pick just one. Critical
Issues in Education and the Politics of Genocide are two classes
that really stirred something in me and helped me begin thinking
about what issues and causes I wanted to learn more about.
Thoughts on the Honor Code:
The Honor Code is just such a critical part of the atmosphere
here. I can’t imagine being part of a campus where, as a
student, I had to prove myself to be trustworthy. I appreciate that
the Honor Code fosters an environment in which people are assumed
to have good judgment, make smart choices, and place a premium on
respect.
Favorite extra curricular activity?
I have been involved in my fair share of extracurricular
activities at Haverford, but the two that have been most formative
have been working in the Women’s Center and playing lacrosse.
Through both of these activities I have made wonderful friends, I
have discovered new passions, and I have become a stronger
person.
Favorite Haverford memory?
My sophomore year, two of my closest friends shared an apartment.
I really loved when we would gather down at their
place—whether we were discussing school, cooking dinner,
lying around, or getting ready to go out, it was always such a
wonderful and warm environment.
