GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Haverford College's Grace Stockbower was honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association with selection to the 2013 IWLCA/DeBeer North-South Division III Senior All-Star Game as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The D-III all-star game, showcasing the nation's top seniors, will take place at Cabrini College on Sunday, May 26 at 2 p.m. Stockbower, a member of the North roster, is one of 42 players chosen to participate. Eight other players from the Centennial Conference will join Stockbower on the field on Sunday.
Stockbower topped the Fords in caused turnovers for the second straight season. Earning second-team all-conference honors in 2013, the defender reached double figures in goals (10) for the first time in her career and tallied her first game-winning tally against McDaniel College on March 30. Stockbower's 34 caused turnovers on the year ranked second in the Centennial.
Named to the IWLCA 2013 All-Metro Region Second Team, Stockbower was a mainstay on defense for Haverford throughout her career as she started 68 of a possible 69 contests. She ranks third in program history in caused turnovers (102) and fourth in caused turnovers per game (1.50).
Stockbower's leadership during her senior campaign proved immeasurable as the Fords set a new program mark with seven Centennial wins on the season and tied the program record for overall wins (13) on their way to qualifying for the Centennial semifinals.
The IWLCA recognized 121 senior student-athletes overall across the three divisions. The D-I contest will begin the day of action at Cabrini at 11:30 a.m. while the D-II game is slated for 12:45 p.m.
