GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Grace Stockbower and Diana Perry of the Haverford College women's lacrosse team were named to the 2013 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region Team released on Tuesday.
Perry and Stockbower both earned second-team all-region accolades to give the Fords 12 all-region honorees in the last five years. The IWLCA recognized 256 student-athletes overall from Division III including 32 from the Metro Region.
It has been a memorable couple of days for both Perry and Stockbower as they were two of three Haverford players named all-conference on Monday.
Earning all-region honors for the first time in her career, Stockbower topped the squad in caused turnovers for the second straight season. The senior defender, a second-team all-conference honoree in 2013, reached double figures in goals (10) for the first time and tallied her first game-winning tally against McDaniel College on March 30. Stockbower's 34 caused turnovers on the year ranked second in the Centennial.
Named first-team all-conference this season, Perry paced the team in points (72), goals (61) and draw controls (42). Shattering her goal total (25) from her freshman year, Perry's 61 goals on the season ranked second in the conference. The sophomore midfielder also set a new single-season program mark with 16 free position goals in 2013.
