Tatum earns Centennial recognition for power-packed performance at plate
LANCASTER Pa. - Kristin Tatum's powerful bat has made an immediate impact for the Haverford College softball team this spring. The Centennial Conference recognized the freshman's most recent impressive performance by naming her the conference player of the week on Monday afternoon.
Tatum hit a pair of grand slams to drive in a program single-game record eight runs in the Fords' 12-1 five-inning non-conference win over Eastern University on March 21. Registering her second two-homer game of the season, Tatum has already matched the program's single-season mark (six).
Only 14 games into her collegiate career, the catcher has shown an impressive prowess at the plate as she currently leads the squad in batting average (.424), slugging percentage (1.030), on-base percentage (.548) and RBIs (20).
