Softball announces 2013 schedule

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College softball team begins the 2013 campaign in just about one month. First up for the Fords is a trip to Penn State-Abington on March 2 before Rowan University, ranked 14th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association preseason poll, comes to Class of '95 Field on March 5.

The non-conference schedule continues in Clermont, Fla., as Haverford plays eight contests in six days over the course of spring break highlighted by contests against 2012 NCAA tournament participants Denison University (March 10) and The College of New Jersey (March 15).

A short trip to Cabrini College on March 19 coupled with a home date against Eastern University will serve as the final non-conference tune-ups before Centennial Conference action begins.

The Centennial portion of the schedule, kicked off with a visit to Washington College on March 28, will once again be challenging. A contest against Dickinson College on March 30 will be the first of five consecutive home contests including an April 7 match-up with the defending conference champion Green Terror of McDaniel College.

After a stretch of three straight road games, capped off by an April 20 date with Swarthmore College, the Fords close out the regular season at home -- a non-conference tilt against Arcadia University on April 25 and the regular-season conference finale against Gettysburg College on April 27.
