Men's indoor track prepares for NCAA championship
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Haverford College's men's indoor track & field team is sending a contingent of runners to North Central University for the NCAA 2013 Division III indoor championship on Friday and Saturday.
The Fords will put three on the starting line in the 5,000-meter run, one in the mile, and will enter a quartet of teammatesin the distance medley relay (DMR).
Christopher Stadler leads the trio of Haverford runners in the 5,000 with the nation's fastest time to date, 14 minutes, 23.56 seconds. Peter Kissin enters the 13-man race with the seventh seed (14:28.79) and Jordan Schilit is eighth (14:29.79). The 5K will be a timed final race Saturday at 3:20 p.m.Central Standard Time.
Freshman Charlie Marquardt carries the Haverford banner in the mile with the 13th-fastest seed time (4:13.18). The mile's preliminary heat is scheduled for Friday at 3:55 p.m. CST with the top 10 advancing to Saturday's final at 1:30 p.m.
The two-day meet is hosted by North Central at the Al B. Carius Track–Residence Hall/Recreation Center.
