LANCASTER, Pa. – Haverford College's Jordan Schilit raced to the top of the nation's performance list with his time in the mile run Saturday at Boston University's Terrier Classic, and that effort helped the senior All-America runner capture the Centennial Conference's indoor track athlete of the week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Schilit, now the conference's leader in the mile, was the fastest Division III runner in the event at Boston, posting a 16th-place time of 4 minutes, 10.60 seconds. The Tampa, Fla., native also ran the 800 at the Terrier and his time of 1:56.69 rates 22nd-fastest in the nation and No. 1 in the Centennial this winter.
Gaining national recognition is not foreign for Schilit who earned All-American recognition in the 5,000-meter run at both the indoor and outdoor NCAA track championships in 2012, and is also a two-time cross country all-American.
