Five from men’s soccer named to NSCAA Scholar All-Region Team
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Seniors Jamey Applegate and Max Stossel and juniors Steve Griffith, David Restrepo and Matt Wetherell of the Haverford College men's soccer team were named Honorable Mention National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Men Scholar All-East Region team.
Applegate, Griffith, Restrepo and Wetherell all received the honor for the first time while Stossel received the honor for the second straight season.
Applegate had a 7-4-2 record with a team-best 48 saves and three shutouts this season. He finished his career with 113 saves and seven shutouts.
Stossel was a three-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll selection. He scored two goals this season and finished his four years with 12 tallies.
Griffith, a two-year starter, was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll this year. Wetherell, a two-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree, joined up with Griffith to help the Fords' defense record five shutouts this season.
Restrepo led the team with seven goals and was second on the team in assists (2) and points (16) this season while being named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
