Michael Mucci enters his 17th season at the helm of Haverford's men's basketball team with the start of the 2011-12 season, leading a program which in recent years has established itself as a playoff contender in the strong Centennial Conference.
Mucci has led the Fords to Centennial Conference tournament appearances in five of the last eight seasons.
In 2011, the Fords raced all the way to the conference semifinals, falling to No. 1 seed and eventual champion Franklin & Marshall 71-62. The team’s 14 wins tied for the most wins in a season since the 18-win campaign of 1976-77. Five of his players were named to all-conference/all-academic teams.
Mucci's 2006-07 squad reached the conference championship game for only the third time in school history and first since 1977. The 2006-07 senior class left Haverford after achieving a winning record versus conference opponents. Also, within the past six seasons the Fords have produced three 1,000-point scorers and the school's all-time career assist leader. Following the 2002-03 season, Mucci earned "Coach of the Year" honors from the Philadelphia Small College Coaches Association. In 1995-96, his first year at Haverford, Mucci guided the senior-laden Fords to their first conference postseason appearance in almost two decades, and to the team's best record in 19 years.
Mucci has more than 30 years of college coaching experience, including 18 years as a Division I assistant at Villanova, Robert Morris, and Yale. He played a central role in building Yale into one of the most respected Ivy League programs in his 13 years there. While in New Haven, he recruited and coached NBA center Chris Dudley.
Michael Mucci and his wife, Karen Kauffman, a professor at Villanova University, live in Havertown.
Jim Rowe

Assistant coach Jim Rowe begins his ninth season with the Fords in 2011-12. He brings experience from his playing and coaching days at Widener University and is involved in scouting, recruiting, and on-court development.
Rowe has assisted Head Coach Mike Mucci to lead the Fords to Centennial Conference tournament appearances in five of the last eight seasons. Previously, Rowe served as the head assistant men's basketball coach at Widener University from 1990-98, where his teams made two NCAA tournament apperances and he was involved in the development of an All-American- Chris Carideo. While at Widener, Rowe helped the team to a MAC championship in 1997. Rowe also served as assistant coach during the 1999-2000 season at Franklin & Marshall, where the Diplomats advanced all the way to the NCAA Division III Final Four and were Centennial Conference champions.
Rowe is a 1985 graduate of Widener with a B.S. in business management. He played for the Pride from 1982-85 and was co-captain in '85. He was a member of the MAC championship team in 1983 and '85, when his teams made post-season appearances. He currently resides in West Chester, Pa.
Ted Rawlings

Ted Rawlings begins his first season as an assistant coach at Haverford College in 2011-12.
As a 2011 University of Pennsylvania graduate, Rawlings was a four-year varsity men's lacrosse goalie for the Quakers, where he played in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
In addition to his duties as a student-athlete, Rawlings served as a four-year volunteer assistant manager for the men's basketball team at Penn. In his role with the Quaker's basketball program, Rawlings was co-head manager during his senior year and gained experience with recruiting tools such as Game-Breaker and prepared clips for practices and games, as well as scouting reports. He also earned a four-year work study position assisting the Director of basketball operations. Rawling has worked various camps and clinics for both basketball and lacrosse including the Herb Sendek camp, University of Pennsylvania camp, Villanova camp, Skyhawks camp and Keating lacrosse clinics.
Rawlings graduated Cume Laude with a B.A. in English from Penn. He currently resides in West Chester, Pa.
Terry McNichol

Terry McNichol enters his first season in 2011-12 as an assistant coach on the Ford bench.
McNichol, a Villanova graduate ('81), most recently served as the head varsity basketball coach at Haverford High School from 1996-2011. He coached the first Haverford team to reach district playoffs in five years during the 1999-'00 season and was the second longest tenured basketball coach in school history. At Marple Newtown High School, McNichol was the assistant varsity coach from 1993-'96.
McNichol is the president of The McNichol Group, a financial services company in Rosemont, Pa. He holds a B.S. in marketing from Villanova and currently resides in Havertown, Pa.
