CHANDLER, Ariz. – Haverford College's field hockey team placed 15 of its players onto the Division III national academic squad individual listing as released by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
With 15 players on the team, sponsored by Gladiator by SGI, the Fords rose to the top of the Centennial Conference as the squad with the highest number of athletes who achieved at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
Sarah Crist, Bridget Gibbons, Mary Hobbs and Sydney Hyder were repeat selections on the list for Haverford. Joining the four on the 2013 squad are Bryn Bissey, Brenna Boehman, Rachel Grunden, Courtney Knill, Allison Martin, Alyssa Mayo, Sedona Murphy, Sara Ozawa, Christie Quake, Megan Reilly and Sarah Waldis.
Earlier this week the Fords were named a D-III national academic team. The Fords were among 125 teams -- including each of the Centennial's 11 institutions -- that completed the fall semester of the 2012-13 academic year with the required 3.00 cumulative GPA.
