NEW ORLEANS - Haverford College's cross country teams remained fixtures in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III national polls as released by the organization Wednesday morning. The men's squad occupied the No. 2 spot for the fifth consecutive week while the women rose one spot to No. 16.
Haverford is one of just three Centennial Conference institutions to merit national rankings for both cross country teams.
Neither the men's nor the women's squad competed last week. The Haverford men finished 17th of 37 teams in their last outing at the Paul Short Run, a race heavily populated by D-I runners, on Sept. 28. Competing in the Dickinson Invitational on Sept. 29, the women ran to a first-place finish in the Long Course portion of the meet.
Both programs return to action Saturday, Oct.13 when they take part in the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
