Soccer teams earn national academic awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Haverford College men's and women's soccer teams earned national recognition this week from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as both Fords squads were honored with an NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2010-11 academic year.
To qualify for the award, teams must post a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
Haverford is one of 157 institutions to earn the NSCAA honor for both its men's and women's programs. In all, 789 teams (218 men, 571 women) from Divisions I, II III, NAIA and NJCAA qualified for the academic award list.
From within the Centennial Conference, only the Johns Hopkins University women's team joined Haverford's men's and women's teams on the awards listing.
