CLEVELAND – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has released the final fall standings of the 2012-13 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings with Haverford College maintaining its 11th place within the listing.
Four Haverford teams participated in NCAA fall championship events, led by men's cross country which tied for second place at the national meet. Leading up to the national race the Fords harriers captured both the Mideast Regional and Centennial Conference titles.
Women's cross country was 13th at the NCAA race to add 63 points to the 87.5 the men's team contributed.
The Fords' men's soccer team, fresh off its first Centennial championship, played into the second round of the NCAA tournament to finish 17th in the tournament, adding 50 points. Women's soccer netted 25 points with its 33rd-place finish in the national tournament, also following a Centennial championship season.
The four NCAA-participating squads generated 225 points for Haverford. Other Centennial Conference institutions among the top fifty on the list are Johns Hopkins University (third) and Dickinson College (32nd). Calvin (Mich.) College leads the fall standings with 308.5 points.
Points toward the Learfield Cup championship are awarded based on an institution's finish in up to 18 sports -- nine women's and nine men's.
The initial winter sport standings will be released Thursday , March. 14, 2013.
