Fords fill up winter Centennial honor roll
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference on Wednesday released its 2013 winter academic honor roll which included 53 student-athletes from Haverford College's basketball and indoor track & field teams.
The women's indoor track team spearheaded Haverford's academic reward with 23 athletes leading the way while the men's team -- including track performer of the year and All-American Christopher Stadler -- added 22 onto the honor roll. Both the men's and women's basketball teams added four players each to the listing.
Haverford's 53 winter athletes were part of 294 that were named to the league's honor roll which requires its nominees to have achieved at least a grade point average of 3.400 and a sophomore class standing. The winter honor roll includes athletes from the conference-sponsored sports of basketball, indoor track & field, swimming, and wrestling.
Even without swimming and wrestling, Haverford posted the highest number of honorees. Ursinus College was next in line with 32 student-athletes earning honor roll inclusion.
