Fords put 80 spring athletes on Centennial's honor roll

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference Spring 2013 Academic Honor Roll was released by the conference office and 80 Haverford College athletes earned inclusion including 21 each from the men's and women's outdoor track & field teams.

The spring total combines with 61 from the fall sports and 53 from the winter sports to produce a total of 194 Centennial academic honor roll recipients over the academic year.

Included in the track numbers this spring is the Centennial championship meet's track performer of the year, Christopher Stadler, who also earned honor roll nods in the fall (cross country) and winter (indoor track). Stadler was the conference's runner of the year in cross country and the indoor championship's track performer of the meet.

Among the five student-athletes from women's tennis to make the honor roll is player of the year Caitlin Gallagher. Men's tennis placed six on the honor roll including Kevin Caulfield who on Wednesday was named the Centennial's sportsmanship award winner.

Baseball placed nine on the honor roll while softball posted four on the list. In lacrosse, the men's and women's teams both put seven on the honor roll.

To be nominated for the conference academic honor roll a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, equal or exceed a cumulative grade point average of 3.40, and participate in at least 50 percent of the team's contests, matches or meets, or in the Centennial championship in track & field.
