Basketball teams host 5th annual Special Olympics night

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's and women's basketball teams hosted the fifth annual Special Olympics night on Tuesday, March 5 in Gooding Arena. More than 50 coaches and players from the Delaware County Special Olympics basketball teams attended the clinic.

The Haverford College coaches and players worked to help the Special Olympic athletes develop their skills in all aspects of fundamental play during the two-hour clinic, which featured stations and five-on-five play.

"Our special thanks to the men's and women's teams for sharing their talents, but more importantly for sharing their hearts,'' said Gene Delaney, the director of the Delaware County Special Olympics basketball group. "I believe we saw a genuine interest from this very special group of young men and ladies, who were wonderful representatives of Haverford College and its mission to produce quality leaders.''
